Die Fuzzies In Der Stadt

Children’s touring theater Set design, Berlin, 1991

The set is formed by a collage of diverse materials in papier-mâché attached to a standing wooden grid. The design incorporates elements of contemporary cities, such as Berlin’s fernsehen turm (TV tower) and a typical hinterhoff (backyard), and New York’s Broadway, together with elements of the Futurist Movement of the early twentieth century. Every panel is composed of two stacking, easily transportable parts. The left folding screen turns to reveal an interior space, the home of the Fuzzies, while “Broadway” is a revolving door passage.
