MoMA Charrette

Solange Fabião’s first collaboration with Steven Holl Architects

artist consultant for the museum design competition, MoMA Charrette, New York, 1997

For this design scheme, I proposed the elevation of the Museum of Modern Art’s famous sculpture garden to the building’s second level. Such a change subsequently created a mega gallery space in the building’s basement, to be called “Orpheum,” that would more than double the institution’s storefront area on 54th Street and triple the entrance level footprint.
