The Pursuit

or the long road that runs from Zero to N, 1988

“When are we going to start to exist? ...when we find someone that has a fantastic imagination.”

In Timochenko Wehbi 1974’s absurd play, two tragicomic characters, Zero and Ene, pursue existence and recognition. As they seek to become visible to the world through film and photography, they reckon with the methods from which meaning and being emerge. This design—shown here in a sketch, 3D renderings, and a photograph—combines a white translucent film and a silver metallic mesh, set apart by twenty centimeters. The two mesh cylinders are hollow, while the main curve is a double wave sectioned in a sloped angle.
